一代三段

The three sections, divisions, or periods of Buddha's teaching in his life- time, known as [lang id =1028]序分, i.e. the [lang id =1028]華嚴, [lang id =1028]阿含, [lang id =1028]方等, and [lang id =1028]般若 (sa) sūtras; [lang id =1028]正宗分, i.e. [lang id =1028]無量義, [lang id =1028]法華, and [lang id =1028]普賢觀 (sa) sūtras; and [lang id =1028]流通分, i.e. the [lang id =1028]湼槃經; they are known as introductory, main discourse, and final application. There are other definitions.
